In February 2009 filmmaker Janus Metz accompanied a group of soldiers on their first tour of duty at Armadillo, an army base in the Southern Afghan province of Helmand. Spending six months there Metz followed the lives of the young recruits in this excellent, award winning film. On completion it provoked furious debate concerning the controversial behaviour of certain soldiers during the real life shoot out with the Taliban. Gripping, thought provoking and visceral this is as close as you get to battle action from the edge of your seat.
