For two days of foursomes and fourballs the home team pounded Europe with birdies. Rookie Keegan Bradley and Masters Champion Bubba Watson led the American charge as Davis Love's dozen powered ahead. But one man stood tall. The imperious Ian Poulter refused to buckle. Five sensational straight birdies rescued a point from the Saturday fourballs and restored European faith. 'Believe' said captain Olazabal going into the final day - and they did. Donald, Poulter - of course - Rory McIlroy and Paul Lawrie pulled Europe level. Justin Rose stunned Phil Mickelson. Garcia and Westwood added points before Germany's Martin Kaymer lined up a six foot putt on the final green to retain the Ryder Cup. The golfing world held its breath... He made it. Minutes later Francisco Molinari denied Tiger Woods to earn the match winning extra half point. The 'Miracle at Medinah' was complete.
