Gru and the oh-so-cute Minions are back in Despicable Me 2. And this time round, the Minions find themselves embroiled in a dramatic kidnap plot... The last time we saw evil villain Gru (voiced by Steve Carrell) was in 2010's hit Despicable Me. This time round in the highly anticipated sequel, Despicable Me 2, Gru's undergone something of a personal growth journey. Yes, Gru's become a nice guy. Directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud (the same duo who directed the first instalment), Despicable Me 2 sees Gru enjoy life as an adoptive father to Margo, Edith and Agnes. He's even taken up jam making. But things turn sour when the nefarious Anti-Villain League (AVL) kidnaps the Minions and Gru is forced to help the AVL with their plans, though he'd much rather be home making jam. Sparks fly between the reformed Gru and AVL agent Lucy Wilde (voiced by Kirsten Wiig) as they team up for their mission to find out who stole the secret Arctic laboratory and track down the mysterious (and presumed dead) villain, El Macho. The Despciable Me 2 cast and crew. With a stellar cast of British and American comedians lending their voices to the film, including Steve Carell as Gru, Kirsten Wiig as Lucy, Russell Brand as Dr. Nefario, Steve Coogan as Silas and Kirsten Schall as Shannon, this sequel was always going to guarantee the laughs. Having been a massive box office hit after being released in the cinemas, Despicable Me 2 is available on DVD and Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray DVD from the 25th of November 2013.
