Wales has the busiest Royal Air Force (RAF) search and rescue operation in the whole of Britain. Hundreds of people are saved every year by the iconic yellow Sea King helicopters. Helicopter Rescue gains exclusive access to follow the crews based at RAF Valleyon Anglesey and RMB Chivenor in Devon. Along the coastline and up in the mountainsof Wales, the RAF's iconic yellow Sea King helicopters are a familiar and comforting sight. In 2012, the two RAF Search and Rescue bases covering Wales were scrambled566 times, making them the busiest in Britain, with more than 470 people being rescued.
