Mac Sledge (Robert Duvall -The Godfather, Apocalypse Now) is down and out. A former American music legend, Mac is now an alcoholic whose fall from grace has left him washed up as he wakes up broke and alone on a Texas motel room floor. When the motel owner Rosa Lee (Tess Harper -No Country for Old Men, T.V's Breaking Bad) finds Mac penniless and with nowhere to go she takes pity on him, offering him work at the motel in exchange for a room.
