Tommy Trinder plays it straight as a young man who joins the Auxiliary Fire Service in Blitz-era London. He soon finds himself part of a brave and dedicated team of volunteers who constantly risk their lives in the burning streets of the bomb-battered city. Directed by Basil Deardon, The Bells Go Down is a patriotic tribute to the men of the A.F.S. (The Blue Lamp, Victim) that features breathtakingly spectacular scenes of fire-ravaged London.
